AUGUST 2: LAMMAS

A TIME OF RENEWAL AMID CHANGE AND THE UNKNOWN

Lammas is the festival of late summer… we have gone over the top and are on the downward path of the year.  What lies behind is now memory, what is to come is unknowable. It bodes a re-entering to the Dark from the Light.  We feel the passage of time pushing us out of the leisured mood of high summer into the urgent hustle of fall.  Once again we stand on the brink of Change… whether reversal, renewal or reformation we do not yet know.  But this is the time to fortify defenses and aim our sights on favorable results.

There are many sides to every matter, every issue, every moment.

Learn to look beyond the obvious, see what lies behind

Dare to turn it over, upside down, inside out, backward and fast forward

Shake off the preconceived prejudices, the stale old biases, the rigid rules

Step beyond your safety zone, risk the unknown, dare to look directly

Confront the challenges, gamble the odds, take your chances

Consider the unimaginable, the unthinkable possibilities, the upheavals

Give way to the inevitable onrushing future

Welcome the insights, the revelations, the transformations

Walk open-eyed toward a renewed vision, a clearer destiny, a stronger self

About Manywoman

I am an eclectic artist and writer, retired from a 35-year career as a PhD sex therapist and counselor at the University of MN Medical School, Program in Human Sexuality. Since retiring in 2005, I have devoted myself to hobbies and pursuits in various art forms and in writing. My art and writing both tend to focus on subjects of women's spirituality and occult mysteries, I read voraciously in most genres, but mainly Occult and urban fantasy, historical fiction, and non-fiction alternative history and religions from female perspective. In addition I am a lover of cats, with five at home with me; an avid collector of fashion dolls; a sewer and creator of art quilts and other fiber arts; a hap-hazard flower gardener; and a retired professional astrologer.
